THE BEST OF ATHENS 5-HOUR PRIVATE TOUR

Athens is the capital of modern Greece. It was named after the ancient goddess Athena, who was also the protector of the city. In antiquity, it was a powerful city-state and a leading centre of culture. Along with Rome, it is considered the most historic city in Europe. Art, politics, sciences and much of what constitutes modern Western culture, were born and flourished here. Many historical monuments have survived at least in part through the centuries, despite successive hardships. These give us valuable evidence about the ancient Greeks and their culture.
