We will visit one of the most beautiful places in Greece, the Meteora. The Meteora are known all over the world for the natural beauty of the rocks and the monasteries perched on top of them.

The first monks arrived in the area in the 11th century. In the decades that followed, they built many monasteries on some of the cliffs, using only materials that they could find and carry up in baskets to altitudes of up to 400 m. The most important of these monasteries is the Great Meteora which was built in the 14th century.

Nowadays, you can climb up to the monasteries using the steps that have been cut into the rocks.

The Meteora offer the visitor the opportunity to enjoy one of the best and most beautiful panoramic views, not only in Thessaly, but in the whole of Greece.
